Several days ago my friend complained to me about the movie CDs he had bought from the reputable movie shop because it couldn’t be played by his media player in his laptop or personal computer. He didn’t know how to make the CDs played by the player then he asked me how to understand and find the way out of this problem. What did my friend need at the time?
I think all he needed were the codec for these movies. What is a codec?The CDs were not broken; they were just coded in an alien language to your media player so your media player couldn’t play the CDs. The codec was the dictionary that our computer had to use to translate the unreadable computer language to the scenes of the movies.
Every video, audio, picture or even word document files are coded in a different way. In the case of big data entries like movies, the computer has to use different algorithms
to compress the data so that the size does not exceed the standard limits. So, when your computer hasn’t had any codec inside then you couldn’t play any movie inside. Fortunately codec is easily downloaded for free. You only need to browse using your computer to find where to download the codec file.
